The blog of radio psychologist Dr. Joy Browne, heard on the WOR Radio Network.
it's gay pride week in new york, which is always kinda festive. last nite i went to hear the gay men's chorus in the nokia center doing billy strayhorn. the nokia is a converted movie theatre and they did a great job; the chorus is always in fine form tho i turn out not to be a huge fan of billy. i did love the guy who was doing the signing for the audience and some of the gear was inspiring. my fondest memory of the gmc is at carengie hall with carol channing who pointed out that her voice was the lowest on stage...teehee. also went to a lincoln center event talking about all the cool summer programs.
on sunday, felt like i covered the emotional american landscape: saw stephen lang doing his one man show about the metal of honor winners called beyond honor and a cute cast downtown doing size zero about adolescent angst and bulimia.
all this was a reward for appearing at the wor health fair and introducing the crowd to yoga, breathing, self massage (not that kind) and a guided visualization and relaxation which was then able to be purchased. got to meet and greet lots of folks.
is new york fun or what?
